
Recent study has suggested that eating more fruits and vegetables and reducing the use of dairy products, will help in the prevention of asthma.
However, the claim remains controversial.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in its latest study says that obesity is the risk factor of the disease, and losing weight can actually help in reducing asthma.
The study says that plant-based diet can reduce the risk of developing the inflammatory chronic condition and improve symptom control, while dairy products increase risk and exacerbate symptoms.
The study reviewed at associations between asthma and the consumption of fruit and vegetables, dairy, eggs, and saturated fat.
Moreover the recent study detailed significant improvements in vital capacity — a measure of the maximum volume of air a person can exhale from their lungs — and other clinical measures.
