ISLAMABAD: The federal capital is also in the grip of soaring dengue as Islamabad reports 96 cases while Rawalpindi reported 98 cases in the last 24 hours.
Most cities in Pakistan are braving dengue after the devastating floods as the stagnant water becomes the breading space for the mosquitoes.
The new cases have taken the toll to 1,657 in Islamabad while five people have lost their lives due to the dengue virus.
Similarly, in Rawalpindi the total number of dengue cases has reached 1,561.
Notably, the condition of dengue virus is alarming in Sindh as daily hundreds of cases are being reported especially in Karachi.
In the last 24 hours 261 new cases are reported in Karachi.
The data released by the Sindh Health Department, 323 cases were reported from the province of which 261 were from Karachi. The Eastern district in the city has been the most affected by the disease with 96 cases in the last 24 hours.
