According to the most recent figures, Putin’s thugs have lost 756 combat tanks since the fight began on February 24.

This is on top of predictions that Russia has lost 20,000 men in just 50 days of fighting.

They have also witnessed the destruction of 163 planes and 144 helicopters in the skies over war-torn Ukraine.

Russia’s latest military defeat comes as the Kremlin redeploys soldiers eastward following a disastrous attempt to retake Kyiv.

REDEPLOYMENT

Putin is now concentrating his efforts in the Donbas area, which has been engulfed in a battle since 2014 between government forces and pro-Russian rebels.

The same year, Russia annexed Crimea and recognised the independence of the rebel districts in the Donbas.

Moscow now plans to use the Donbas to create a strategic corridor between Crimea and its own sovereign territory.

It implies that highways like the one depicted in the video will continue to be battlegrounds for months to come.

According to a senior US defence official, the Russian military is still gathering helicopters and other equipment for such an operation.

Worryingly, after it has reassembled after suffering significant casualties, it is expected to deploy more ground combat forces in the region.

However, it is uncertain when Russia will start a larger attack in the Donbas.

It comes after Russia’s flagship, the Moskva, was sunk by a spectacular missile strike by the Ukrainians.

HUMILIATION

After sustaining direct hits from two Neptune anti-ship missiles, the ship, a 40-year-old icon of Russian military strength, was reduced to a smouldering ruin.

The ship subsequently sank while being towed to the Crimean naval port of Sevastopol.

According to Kyiv sources, First Rank Captain Anton Kuprin, 44, was killed when the ship was hit by the missiles.

It is said that just about 50 of the crew are still alive, having been picked up by a Turkish vessel.

Another 14 were apparently flown to the port of Sevastopol, leaving over 450 whose fates are unknown.

Overnight video from Sevastopol shows scores of automobiles allegedly belonging to sailors still parked at the port, implying their owners haven’t arrived.

The loss of the Soviet-era Moskva in the Black Sea spurred Russia to unleash a fierce reprisal, subsequently claiming to have blitzed the plant that manufactured the missiles that sank their treasured flagship.

On Thursday night, the defence ministry said it blasted the ‘Vizar’ factory on the outskirts of Kyiv, which it claims builds Neptune anti-ship missiles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, seeking violent vengeance for the sinking, then launched a fresh bombing campaign against Kiev, pledging more strikes in the future.

“The frequency and size of missile strikes against Kyiv targets will rise in reaction to any terrorist actions or acts of sabotage on Russian territory undertaken by the Kyiv nationalist government,” Russia’s defence ministry warned in a statement.

According to Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko, strikes later shook the capital Kyiv on Thursday night.

The sky above Kyiv has been lighted up by many explosions, according to social media footage, and these look to be the most significant strikes since Russia withdrew from the city earlier this month.

Blasts were also heard in the southern city of Kherson, the eastern city of Kharkiv, and the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk in Ukraine.

While Mariupol is anticipated to fall within hours after weeks of valiant fighting in which the coastal city was repeatedly bombed by Russian soldiers.

The city serves as the final link in Russia’s attempt to build a land bridge that will provide them with extensive access to the Black Sea.
