On Friday House Representatives voted to legalize Marijuana ‘weed’.

In House bill, they called the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act, and said “would remove marijuana from the list of scheduled substance and establish in process to expunge prior cannabis convictions, will also impose federal tax on weed products 5% excise tax for first two years, by increasing 1% incrementally each year in coming three years.”

On Friday the House passes bill where it voted 220-204, three Republications sided with the Democrats in favor of measure, while two voted against it.

In Wednesday’s committee Steven Hawkins U.S. Cannabis Council CEO said that “There is much more work to be done before any bill reaches the federal to recognize that his experiment in legalization has been a resounding success.” He further added “if states are the laboratories of democracy, it is long past time for the federal get to recognize that this experiment in legalization has been resounding success.”
