Satellite images from Maxar Technologies show that almost every building on the sprawling Azovstal steel plant has been destroyed.

The roofs have big holes in them, indicating a military strike.

Some buildings have been reduced to rubble, and some roofs have totally fallen.

A large number of residential and government structures to the east of the plant have also been entirely destroyed.

Hundreds of locals and Ukrainian military have taken cover in the steel plant’s vast basements.

It’s unclear whether any of the military strikes destroyed any of the basement facilities based on satellite photographs.

There has been heavy bombardment in the plant, Sviatoslav Palamar, an Azov Regiment commander tells.

“There are cellars and bunkers that we cannot reach because they are under rubble,” Palamar said.

He added, “We do not know whether the people there are alive or not. There are children aged four months to 16 years. But there are people trapped in places that you can’t get to.”
