Earth Day 2022: XR shuts down a major US newspaper’s printing plant

Activists from Extinction Rebellion say they occupied a printing plant for major American newspapers on Earth Day, a global day of celebration and mobilization in support of environmental protection.

In the wee hours of the morning, a climate action group went after a facility used by the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

Earth Day protests are taking place around the world, including ones against Russian fossil resources in Europe.

Other environmental protests, lectures, film screenings, and litter-picking events are taking place around the world to mark the 52nd anniversary of Earth Day.

This year’s theme for Earth Day 2022 is “Invest in Our Planet,” a call to action for individuals, businesses, and world leaders alike to invest in environmentally-friendly practises and technologies.
