Three days after going for a walk Monday afternoon, a New Hampshire couple was found fatally shot in hiking trails near their home, officials said Friday.

Stephen Reid, 67, and Djeswende Reid, 66, were found dead early Thursday evening in a forested area near the Marsh Loop in Concord’s Broken Ground Trails system, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

Both the husband and wife died of numerous gunshot wounds, autopsies revealed. Officials determined that their deaths were homicides.

So yet, no arrests have been made. The Reids walked out of their apartment complex at around 2:22 p.m. Monday and ended themselves in the Broken Ground Trails, which are located near their house, according to the AG’s office.

They were not heard from again, according to the office.

“This is a tragedy that occurred out of nowhere, and we’re doing all we can to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion,” Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood told NBC Boston.

Anyone who has seen the pair has information regarding their disappearance, or has surveillance systems that captured the Reids is requested to contact authorities.
