
Russian navy evacuates its flagship in Black Sea, while Ukraine claims to have been struck by a missile, Wednesday.
Russian’s invasion of its neighbor, has caused its military struggled for 50 days for the sake of resistance from Ukraine. Russia’s optimum combat ship is found at the bottom of the sea, abandoned.
The cruiser, Moskva, is evacuated by Russian sailors, after the explosion of ammunition division.
RIA and TASS, quoted the Russian Defense Ministry that Moskva had been damaged severely, and the cause of the fire is being investigated. There is no information for possible casualties by the media outlets.
Ukraine claimed that the Russian warship had been hit by its missiles, causing the destruction.
The satellite imagery and sensory data in unclear, due to storm in the Black Sea. As a consequence, the situation is unambiguous.
The analysts noted that a fire can lead to a disaster like such. The report is yet to be confirmed, once the situation is cleared out.
The incident has struck hard at the national intersts.
A retired US Navy, Carl Schuster, said, “Only the loss of a ballistic missile submarine or the Kutznetsov (Russia’s lone aircraft carrier) would inflict a more serious blow to Russian morale and the navy’s reputation with the Russian public.”
According to Alessio Patalano, professor of war and strategy, losing a warship would be a “massive blow” for Russia.
The 611-foot-long, Moskva, has a crew of almost 500. It is the pride of the Russian naval fleet in the Black Sea.
It is armed with anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles as well as torpedoes and naval guns for defense systems.
Schuster said that you only have two choices when the fire reaches one’s ammo, either they flood them, or abandon the ship.
He further added, “Otherwise your crew is onboard to be wiped out by the catastrophic explosion that follows a fire reaching several hundred tons of ordnance.”
Neptune is a Ukrainian weapon that became operational last year.
The weapon was used to attack Moskva.
Moskva also has significance to Ukraine, as it was one of the ships involved in the famous exchange at Snake Island, according to Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to Ukrainian President.
A Russian officer said that it was a Russian military warship, and he suggested Ukraine to surrender, avoiding any further bloodshed. He added, “Otherwise, you will be bombed.”
After the statement, Ukraine’s soldier responded, “Russian warship, go f*** yourself.”
