Prime Minister Eduard Heger of Slovakia alongside Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki expressed his displeasure that nations like as Hungary and Germany have protested against sanctions against Russia.
Eduard of Slovakia has advocated for tightening sanctions on Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine.
He expressed this view alongside Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki after a joint session of the Slovak and Polish cabinets at Stara Lubovna castle in northern Slovakia.
He voiced dissatisfaction, though, with Hungary’s refusal to provide Ukraine with arms or to permit military shipments carrying weapons to pass through its borders.
The statements alluded to a growing schism between the Visegrad 4 group of countries over Russia and the war in Ukraine, with the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland providing heavier armaments such as tanks and Hungary remaining firmly neutral.
