
A Penn Hills man is in custody after an Uber driver was found shot in Monroeville on Saturday.
A 22-year-old Calvin Crew of Penn Hills is charged with the homicide of an Uber driver, Christina Spicuzza, says Allegheny County.
Police found the body of 38-year-old Christina Spicuzza along Rosecrest Drive.
The woman from Turtle Creek has been shot, and her car has been displaced at some distance.
Allegheny County police said Calvin Crew has been charged with homicide.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Crew’s arrest and he was taken into custody on Thursday.
He was also charged with robbery, tampering with evidence, and a firearms violation.
Uber gave a statement, “No family should have to suffer such an unimaginable loss and our thoughts are with Christi’s loved ones during this difficult time. We’ve been in touch with law enforcement to support the investigation and are grateful for everything they’ve done.”
According to county police, “We are investigating this as a homicide, but the authority to make an official cause and manner determination rests with the medical examiner’s office.”
An Uber spokesperson stated, “Our thoughts are with Christi’s family and friends during this difficult time. Uber’s 24/7 public safety team has been assisting police in the investigation.”
There has been no official announcement from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office on the cause or manner of death.
