As Ukrainian officials warn a major battle in the Donbas region, PM, Iryna Vereshchuk, says that Russian forces did not agree on evacuation routes for civilians.

Vereshchuk stated, “Intense shelling continues in Donbas.”

While he talks regarding evacuation from other routes, Russia refuses to open the escape route in the besieged city of Mariupol to leave for the port city of Berdyansk.

“We continue difficult negotiations on the opening of humanitarian corridors in Kherson and Kharkiv regions,” Vereshchuk added.

Russian attacks continue, as the civilians are trapped in Mariupol, with a negligible chance to escape.

The Russian Defense Ministry set conditions for the remaining Ukrainian forces in Mariupol to surrender; an ultimatum that municipal officials ignored.
