103-YEAR-OLD WOMAN BECOMES WORLD’S OLDEST PARACHUTER
Rut Larrson, a 103-year-old Swedish woman, has broken the record for the oldest person to do a tandem parachute leap.
In the Swedish city of Motala, the brave lady leaped out of a plane with parachutist Joackim Johansson.
“It was amazing to accomplish this, I’ve been thinking about it for a long time,” Larrson told local reporters after the jump.
As the 103-year-old glided down effortlessly, her friends and relatives cheered her on from the airfield below.
When asked what she saw during her jump, she remarked, “Nowadays I don’t see so well, but it felt amazing.”
A representative from Guinness World Records was also present to witness the jump.
Larrson, who is 103 years and 259 days old, shattered the previous record for the oldest person to parachute, which was held by a woman who was 103 years and 181 days old at the time.
“There was an American woman who beat the record, so I had to beat hers,” Larrson said, adding that she will celebrate with “a little cake.”
Roger, an Irish skydiver, stunned his parents Pat and Mary by calling them just before leaping from a plane a few days ago. The video, which was taken in 2015, has recently become popular on social media.
