Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister, is the latest to comment on the FA Cup Final catastrophe, in which fans booed the national anthem and Prince William.

According to Express UK, the Duke of Cambridge, as president of the Football Association, attended the final match between Chelsea and Liverpool in London, but spectators began booing immediately the Christian song Abide with Me was played.

When Prince William’s name was announced in the stadium and he met with players from both Liverpool and Chelsea, the crowd became even more rowdier.

Britons were outraged at the episode, and Johnson’s spokesman was asked whether the PM believed booing the national anthem can ever be justified.

Johnson’s spokesman said, “No… Obviously, the events of the weekend were a huge shame, especially as we were celebrating the 150th anniversary of the FA Cup, which brings people together.”

“I totally condemn any supporters who booed Prince William at Wembley,” Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle said in an interview with The Mail on Sunday. The FA Cup final should be a moment when we as a country come together.”

“It should not be tarnished by the heinous behaviour of a small group of supporters.” This is horrible in this year of all years — the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee,” he said.
