Liudmyla Denisova, the Verkhovna Rada’s Commissioner for Human Rights, has urged the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to rescue Ukrainian servicemen from Mariupol and transport them to a third country.

According to source, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova made the appropriate statement on Facebook.

According to her, the Russian Federation violates the wounded Ukrainian servicemen’s right to medical care. Approximately 600 wounded Ukrainian servicemen remain in the Mariupol-based Azovstal factory in extremely tough conditions.

There are dozens of two-tier bunks in one room, according to Denisova. The other wounded are strewn across the floor in filthy conditions. Many people are dying because they are unable to get medical aid.

They don’t have any medications, food, or water. The water evacuated from the heating system is being used by the hospital.

Denisova emphasised that the aggressors resumed their assault on the Azovstal complex, using a variety of weapons, including planes, heavy artillery, and tanks.

The rights of the injured to life and medical care, as provided by The Hague and Geneva Conventions, are gravely violated by Russia. Russia specifically violates Article 12 of the Geneva Convention for the Relief of Wounded and Sick Armed Forces in the Field, which was signed on August 12, 1949.

Denisova urged the UN Commission on Human Rights Violations during Russia’s Military Invasion of Ukraine to consider these human rights violations.

“I call on the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to save the lives of our defenders and ensure their removal from Mariupol by all possible means, including by evacuation to a third country,” Denisova noted.

Ukrainian personnel from the Mariupol-based Azovstal factory, which includes Israel, Switzerland, Turkey, and Finland.

Turkey has offered the wounded Ukrainian defenders a naval evacuation, but Russia’s posture is shifting daily.
