A Los Angeles driver working a Tesla on autopilot during a dangerous 2019 accident should stand preliminary on vehicular homicide accusations, a Los Angeles County judge administered for this present week.

Kevin George Aziz Riad, 27, will be taken away for two counts of vehicular homicide, news reports.

The mishap occurred in 2019 when Riad was driving 74 mph in the Los Angeles suburb of Gardena.

Police supposedly said his Tesla Model S took an interstate exit and ran a red light prior to blasting through a Honda Civic on Dec. 29, 2019.

The accident killed Gilberto Alcazar Lopez, 40, and Maria Guadalupe Nieves-Lopez, 39, who were on a first date the evening of the mishap.

A unidentified lady in the Tesla, alongside Riad, were hospitalized with wounds after the mishap.

The vehicle’s Autosteer and traffic mindful journey control were actuated at the hour of the accident, as indicated by investigators.

A Tesla engineer additionally affirmed that sensors showed Riad had a hand on the guiding wheel.

Crash information allegedly showed that no brakes were applied in the six minutes paving the way to the mishap.

Tesla authorities have said that Autosteer and the more refined “full self-driving” work can’t altogether drive the vehicle, and drivers should screen and answer needs founded on traffic conditions.
