MAN FINDS ‘STRAY LION’, TURNS OUT TO BE A BAG

Wildlife officers were dispatched to deal with a wandering lion in the bushes, only to discover later that it was actually a bag containing a photograph of the big animal.

After a man working on a farm noticed glimpses of a lion in the bushes, the incident occurred in Kenya, around a kilometre from the Mt Kenya National Park.

Because the national park was close by, the man approached forest officials and informed them that a stray lion was hiding near the hedge.
“We received many complaints from residents at Kiangua site, Meru County, of a lion lurking in a thicket,” Kenya Wildlife Service tweeted.

“The KWS Meru team went to the scene in an attempt to prevent a possible disaster.”

However, it was later discovered that the bag contained avocado tree seedlings and was placed in the hedge by the owners to keep them from drying out.

“We approached the situation with prudence and seriousness. “We made sure everyone was safe first, then wildlife officials looked into it and determined it was a bag,” a wildlife officer told the newspaper.

Regardless of the false alert, the Kenya Wildlife Service praised “the public for raising an alarm in order to mitigate a potential clash.”
