Following the impact of COVID-19 on his business, a man travelled across 28 Indian states in 278 days on a budget of INR 12,000, according to Hindustan Times.

Visal Vishwanath documented his journey on Instagram. “LIFE… The best present I have ever received,” he added.

“For the past nine months, I’ve been living a life I’d never imagined or experienced before. Setting up my tent or sleeping wherever I found myself. Most of the time, I eat fruits. Taking public transportation or hitching. “For me, every day and instant was a new life,” he added.

Visal has lived in Bengaluru for quite some time. He began his voyage on July 26 and employed a variety of modes of transportation, including walking on the road and hitchhiking, as well as buses and trains.

The daring 32-year-old slept in tents on occasion.

“The locations I went, the people I met, the mountains I climbed, the roads I walked on, the food I ate, each instant transported me to different sensations and feelings.” When I was physically or psychologically exhausted, a simple grin gave me the strength to take the next step. Now when I think about it, it only makes me unhappy that I won’t be able to do it again with the same sensation I had the first time.

Visal arrived in Guwahati first, then travelled to Arunachal Pradesh. The lockdowns posed challenges for him.

During the second wave of the virus, he was halted at state boundaries.

He said he learnt more in his trip than he had in 32 years since he engaged with different cultures.

Because he barely had INR 12,000 on him, his two options were to walk or hitchhike.

“It is possible for everybody to travel. But it is up to you to decide how that should be. I was always asked why I was travelling this way and what I expected to gain from it. I can now claim to have lived a life. I’m not in need of anything else. I will never forget the experiences I had “Visal stated.
