Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine’s former president, spoke to Sarah-Jane Mee this afternoon.

He urged for further pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to “stop killing Ukrainian women, Ukrainian children, and Ukrainian elderly people” and to “end this conflict.”

He also expressed his gratitude for US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s leadership.

Mr Poroshenko stated, “Having a coordinated policy is absolutely important now.”

He went on to say that the global food issue is “another major risk” that is being “orchestrated.”

“Around 20% of the globe will go hungry as a result of Russia… and the war will also result in a massive refugee catastrophe,” he warned.

He added, “With that situation, it is another argument for why we should be so decisive to stop Russia and use all the instruments to block all Russian foreign trade and to arrest all the Russian commercial vessels.”
