KABUL: Five people were killed and eleven others were injured after an aftershock struck a district in the earthquake-ravaged eastern province of Afghanistan on Friday, according to an official source.

More than 1,000 people have been reported dead and more than 1,500 have been injured in Paktika and the adjoining Khost province after a magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Afghanistan on Wednesday morning, including the capital city of Kabul.
