This month, an extraordinary coalition of foreign activist groups, Mexican prosecutors; and a canine trained to sniff out memory devices came together in Mexico City; to apprehend a high-profile alleged pedophile.

First, Free a Girl, a Dutch human trafficking organisation; alerted activists at Operation Underground Railroad in the United States that Jason Maatman; a Dutch man who openly encouraged sex with children; had fled to Mexico to avoid outstanding legal charges in the Netherlands.
Maatman appears to have believed that lax Mexican law enforcement would allow him to operate freely in Mexico City.
