
Heavy fighting in the north of Sloviansk, as Russian army continues bombardment
- Sviatohirsk, a nearby village with a mediaeval monastery is shelled.
- Except for the western outskirts of Severodonetsk, the city is now under Russian control.
- Fighting continues in several parts of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
Much of the combat has taken place on the outskirts of Sloviansk. Sviatohirsk, a nearby village with a mediaeval monastery on the banks of the Siverskiy Donetsk river, was shelled. Moreover, three monks were killed, according to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Fighting continues in several parts of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, according to the Ukrainian military. Russian forces are attempting to approach from many angles in order to conquer more of the area.

Three more settlements in the vicinity were under fire, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff. Battle was ongoing in many other locations. Studenok, Sosnove, and Yarova indicate that Russian forces make some movement near the river. Ukrainian soldiers, however, reportedly constructed defenses around Sloviansk, according to observers.
“The occupants continue to fire on the Armed Forces positions in the districts of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in the Severodonetsk direction,” the military said.
Russian airstrikes are also reported in nearby areas. The western outskirts of Severodonetsk are still held by Ukrainian troops. While, the rest of the city is now under Russian control.

Russian operations were also continuing in Bakhmut, according to the military. Furthermore, conflict occurred the surrounding communities to the east and south of the town.
