More than 1.1 million people in east China’s Jiangxi Province were hit by torrential rain and rain-induced floods, from May 28 until 4 p.m. Friday, according to local authorities.

After devastating crops and homes, the inclement weather caused immediate economic losses of 2.65 billion yuan (about $400 million USD). Approximately 83,000 individuals were evacuated at this time.
From June 12 to 14, heavy rainfall is expected to move from north to south across Jiangxi, with torrential downpours in some areas, according to the meteorological agency.
