- More than 5,000 Afghans have returned to Afghanistan from neighbouring Pakistan and Iran.
- 173 unregistered refugees landed in southern Kandahar province from Pakistan.
- More than 740,000 Afghan refugees have returned or been deported to Afghanistan, mostly from neighbouring countries, since August 2021.
The Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs stated on Thursday that 5,159 Afghan refugees had returned from neighbouring Pakistan and Iran.
As per the government, up to 4,986 Afghans returned from Iran via border crossing points in western Nimroz and nearby Herat provinces, and 173 unregistered refugees landed in southern Kandahar province from Pakistan.

And per the ministry, 1,880 returnees were referred to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a UN migration agency, for assistance and support.
As per the latest numbers from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs, more than 740,000 Afghan refugees have returned or been deported to Afghanistan, mostly from neighbouring countries, since August 2021.
