“Pray for me,” he hurriedly shouted before joining his fireman colleagues in putting out a major fire at a container depot in Sitakunda; near Bangladesh’s largest port city of Chittagong, late Saturday night. According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) agency, Shakil was one of nine firefighters killed in the disaster; the biggest such toll in a single incident in Bangladesh’s history.
