- The Russian army is “putting all its reserves” towards conquering Severodonetsk.
- Russians are “suffering significant losses,”Serhiy Hayday.
- According to UK intelligence assessment, Russia would control the entire Luhansk region in two weeks.
According to Serhiy Hayday, the commander of the regional military administration, the Russian army is “putting all its reserves” towards conquering Severodonetsk in the eastern Luhansk region.
“They had previously managed to conquer much of the city,” Hayday said on Ukrainian television, adding that the Russians are “suffering significant losses.”

Chechen forces who appeared to believe the war was won had also infiltrated the city, according to Hayday.
Ukraine now controls nearly half of Severodonetsk, according to Hayday. He was responding to a query regarding the most recent UK intelligence assessment. It predicted that Russia would control the entire Luhansk region in two weeks.
He went on to say that the humanitarian situation in the area is challenging.
He said the Russians were trying to demolish bridges “so that we cannot provide reinforcements to our guys who are in Severodonetsk, who are defending the Luhansk region. They are really afraid that the success of our defenders will develop, and this can be done if ammunition, weapons and reinforcements are provided in time. This is the first thing they are afraid of.”
“Even in Lysychansk, we are shelled, but daily we continue to transport humanitarian goods by trucks. We may even evacuate people, but quietly, without publicity, because the Russian army is shooting at evacuation buses,” Hayday claimed.
