After being caught trying to sneak more than 100 live animals onto a plane, two ladies have been taken into custody.

At Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand on Monday, the animals were discovered inside the luggage of Nithya Raja, 38, and Zakia Sulthana Ebrahim, 24. ( June 28 ).

Sathon Khong-ngern, the head of the wildlife checkpoint, reported that an X-ray inspection helped discover 109 animals that were split across two instances.

Two albino porcupines, two armadillos, 35 turtles, 50 lizards, and 20 snakes were among the strange animals found.

According to Khong-ngern, Raja and Ebrahim were accused of breaking the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act of 2019.

Additionally, the Animal Disease Act of 2015 and the Customs Act of 2017 were determined to have been broken. It remains unclear what the women were planning to do with the animals.

Animal trafficking through airports has reportedly been a problem in the area for a while.

In 2019, shocked customs agents allegedly apprehended a man who had earlier landed in Chennai from Bangkok after finding a month-old leopard cub in his suitcase.

Authorities at Chennai International Airport found a monkey and an albino porcupine in a passenger’s luggage in May.
