Yemen asks European countries to ban antiquities auctions

Yemen’s government asked European countries not to let Yemeni artefacts be sold at auction in many European places.

In a statement released Thursday by the Yemeni News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that commercial agencies in Europe have been selling Yemeni artefacts in different ways.

As per the statement, the Yemeni government opposes the sale of antiquities because they represent Yemen’s  “ancient civilization and glorious history.”
