UAE Healthcare Crisis: Director Axed Amidst Service Center Fiasco

• UAE hospital director replaced for bottom-ranking service.
• Emirates Health Services head to oversee one-month improvements.

The director of a UAE hospital has been replaced following its placement at the bottom of the list for worst service centers.

The director-general of Emirates Health Services, responsible for Kalba Hospital, will oversee improvements in the next month.

This change coincides with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s announcement of the best and worst federal government entities.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure service center in Ras Al Khaimah was also identified as underperforming, with both entities given a 60-day ultimatum to enhance their services.

The annual evaluation of 124 centers resulted in six entities receiving top 6-star ratings, including the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, and the Ministry of Interior.

“Good government services in the UAE are a right of the people,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote on microblogging platform X.
