Nobel Laureate and global advocate for girls’ education, Malala Yousafzai, has announced a new round of emergency grants to support charities providing humanitarian aid to children in war-torn Gaza.

In a post on her official social media accounts, Yousafzai expressed strong solidarity with Palestinians, particularly the children enduring the harsh violence inflicted by Israel. She also underscored the severe humanitarian crisis facing Gazans.

“For nearly a year now, I have been thinking every day about the Palestinian children in Gaza suffering under relentless Israeli bombings. They have experienced abject horror and trauma as their homes and schools have been destroyed and their friends and family members killed,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

Repeating her call for an immediate ceasefire, the Nobel laureate stated: “I stand with millions of people around the world demanding an immediate and lasting ceasefire. And today, I am directing another $300,000 in emergency funding from @malalafund to three charities helping Palestinian children: @KinderUSA @inaraorg and @rawa.fund.”

Malala Yousafzai further highlighted how the funds will support the humanitarian and social justice organizations involved.

According to the girls’ education advocate, these charities will focus on “providing food, clean water, and medical care to children; assisting parents with vital services to care for their kids; offering psychosocial and educational support to traumatized children; and setting up tents for displaced families.”

It’s worth noting that Yousafzai has consistently raised awareness about the suffering of children in Gaza, both at international forums and through her own words, using the Malala Fund and her self-sponsored media platforms to promote girls’ education. She has previously collected donations for Gaza through the Malala Fund, both before and after the war that started on October 7.
