Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei rejects talks with US, Calls them false hopes
TEHRAN: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has strongly rejected the idea of holding talks with the United States, saying the Iranian nation will never bow down to American pressure.
Speaking at a public gathering, Khamenei made it clear that Iran will not follow the policies of former US President Donald Trump or any other American leader. “The Iranian people are standing firmly against the US,” he said.
He criticized those who believe negotiations with Washington could solve Iran’s problems, calling such hopes false and misleading. “Those who expect results from talks with America will be disappointed,” Khamenei remarked.
Responding to questions about why Iran refuses direct negotiations with the US, the Supreme Leader stressed that the country will never compromise on its security or sovereignty. “Iran will not trade its independence for empty promises,” he said firmly.
Khamenei’s statement comes amid ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, with both sides at odds over sanctions, regional policies, and nuclear issues.
