Renowned Pakistani actress Javeria Abbasi has opened up about her recent marriage, revealing that her Nikkah ceremony was uniquely designed to blend Sunni and Shia traditions, symbolizing unity and mutual respect.
Javeria, known for her enduring popularity and powerful presence on screen, remarried last year a personal milestone that was celebrated by many fans, though not without drawing criticism from some circles due to its timing shortly after her daughter’s wedding.
Speaking about the details of her wedding, Javeria described the event as a “Su-Shi Wedding” a heartfelt term she used to reflect the respectful inclusion of both Sunni and Shia customs in the ceremony.
“Our Nikah was performed according to the practices of both sects. We honoured the traditions of both families, and it made the ceremony all the more beautiful,” she said.
