Anti-polio Drive Kicks start in 46 districts of country

Anti-polio Drive has been commenced in different cities of the country today.

Focal Person to Prime Minister on polio eradication Babar Bin Atta said as many 8.5 million children under the age of five years will be vaccinated anti-polio drops during the campaign.

Babar Bin Atta said that the drive has been initiated in 29 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four districts of Punjab and six districts of Sindh and 0.9 million kids will be vaccinated anti-polio drops in Baluchistan, he further stated.

According to details, the polio campaign, which has been suspended for four months across KP, including Peshawar, is being resumed all over the province from today.

A new polio campaign is being launched simultaneously in thirty-nine districts of the province. The polio campaign has been inaugurated in the outskirts of Mashu Khel.

All polio staff and lady health workers have been summoned for the campaign and the government has devised a comprehensive plan for the security of the polio teams.

This lethal disease has increased to 44 this year after three more polio cases were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A four-day polio campaign has been launched in four more cities, including the provincial capital of Punjab, Lahore.

Over 1,772 children under the age of five would be given polio drops in Lahore, Sargodha, Jhelum and Mianwali during the anti-polio campaign.

The entire Lahore district has been included in the polio campaign, while 46 union councils of Sargodha, Mianwali and Jhelum have been included in the campaign.

It should be noted that the Anti-Polio Program has urged parents not to heed to false and negative propaganda against the anti-polio vaccination campaign and vaccine and the polio vaccine is certified, safe and effective from the Ministry of Health of Pakistan.
