Coach bans for 4 year over bribe attempt

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has banned Russian track and field coach Andrei Eremenko for four years after attempting bribe.

According to the details, the coach had initially been cleared by the anti-doping panel of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency in December 2018.

According to the sources, RUSADA had sought a urine sample from hurdler Yulia Malueva, who was coached by Eremenko, during the 2017 during Russian athletics championships in Sochi.

The body said that the athlete tried to avoid testing by faking ill health.

Russia banned from all global sports events for 4 years

Earlier, The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has imposed a four-year ban on Russia from all global sport, including the 2020 Olympics and the 2022 World Cup finals.

WADA’s executive committee took the decision after concluding Moscow had tampered with laboratory data.

The agency found Russia planted fake evidence and deleted files linked to positive doping tests that could have helped identify drug cheats.

Russia has 21 days to appeal the decision through the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Individual Russian athletes untainted by the scandal will still be able to compete in competitions independently under a neutral flag.
