The administration has decided to seal off eight more areas in Rawalpindi to curb the spread of COVID-19.

According to details, the Rawalpindi administration has decided to seal off eight more areas to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The administration has suggested to the Home Department that the hotspot areas of Rawalpindi, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Dhok Ali Akbar, Kotha Kalan, Morgah, Takht Padi and two major bazaars, Bara Market and Nankari Bazaar, be completely sealed for ten days.

According to the district administration, the affected areas will be sealed off from June 30 to July 10, the movement of citizens will be restricted and markets and shops will be closed.

It is to be noted that the total number of patients infected with Corona virus in Rawalpindi has reached 5590 while reports of 118 more patients have come positive in the last 24 hours.

The number of positive coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surged to 202,955. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 4,118.

The latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 4,072 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours in the country.
