The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa has expressed his heartfelt condolence on the demise of HH, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, DG ISPR tweeted.
The tweet stated,
“General Qamar Javed Bajwa,#COAS, expressed heartfelt condolence on the sad demise of Amir of State of Kuwait, HH, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.”
The tweet further stated,
“May Allah Almighty bless his soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss, Ameen.”

It should be mentioned here that Kuwait’s emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah died on Tuesday, 29th September after a long illness at the age of 91. The monarch had ruled over Kuwait for nearly 15 years.
Earlier in July, Sheikh Sabah went to the US for medical treatment following surgery for an unidentified condition.
In January 2006, Sheikh Sabah came to power after Emir Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah stepped down soon after nine days into his rule.
Sheikh Sabah had also served as Kuwait’s Foreign Minister from 1963 to 1991 and from 1992 to 2003.
It is pertinent to mention here that for the past 260 years, Kuwait has been ruled by the Sabah family.
