Motorway Rape Case: Main Accused Abid will be arrested soon says Chohan

Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan has said that Abid Ali, the main accused in Gujjarpura rape case, will be arrested in a couple of days.

According to the details, Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan in his statement said that we know where the main accused Abid Ali is hiding, Abid Ali will be arrested in a couple of days.

Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that the victim was disturbed and therefore did not take part in the investigation. Police took effective action within 72 hours after the incident.

The Punjab Information Minister further said that CCPO Lahore Omar Sheikh and Shahbaz Sharif made similar statements

The Minister said that the pardoning statements are not the solution.

The Punjab Information Minister also said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz president Shehbaz Sharif should stand in the parliament and resign for lying.

He said that Shahbaz Sharif had to represent the nation with a positive stance on the abuse case. The Leader of the Opposition had disappointed the nation with his lies and amorphous statements.

Another FIR

Let it be known that the investigators have traced one more First Information Report (FIR) against one of the prime suspects in motorway gang-rape case and still at large; Abid Ali, over his alleged involvement in a robbery case.

Punjab government and the provincial police department had confirmed that Abid Ali had been nominated in eight cases across the region.

It emerged today that overall nine cases were registered against the suspected criminal who is also accused of gang-raping a woman on Lahore Motorway.

The latest discovery was made after the investigators found Abid Ali and Babar Ali’s nomination in dacoity cases at Faqirwali police station.

Babar Ali is the brother of another suspect, Shafqat Ali, in the gang-rape case.

Physical Remand

On Tuesday the Lahore Court handed Shafqat, a co-accused in the motorway rape case, over to police on a six-day physical remand.

Shafqat was presented before the Lahore session court for physical remand today in the motorway rape case.

Section of Terrorism has also been included in the rape case against the accused.

The Police confirmed that Shafqat has confessed his involvement in the motorway gang-rape case. The DNA of the accused has matched with the victim woman.
