
Peshawar Blast
At least eight died and 95 others injured in an explosion at a madrassah in Peshawar’s Dir Colony on Tuesday morning.
According to the details, a blast that hit a religious seminary located in Dir Colony. Police and rescue teams have rushed towards the site where the explosion has occurred.
Those killed and injured include madrassah students aged between nine and 15 years. Health officials fear that the death toll from the blast may rise as many of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
According to Rescue 1122, the injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital and another medical facility where the condition of several of them is stated to be critical.
SSP Aman said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast.
Police and other security officials have cordoned off the area.
KP Health Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra also confirmed the death toll.
Jhagra added that there were “patients at other hospitals, but the majority are being treated at LRH”.
He quoted the CCPO as saying it was “confirmed that preliminary onsite investigations show explosives being used”.

Let it be known that last week, Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Ali Shahwani said that National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) had issued a security alert for the public rallies of opposition parties in Quetta and Peshawar, saying there was “credible information” about the possibility of subversive activities.
Last month, five people were killed and two others injured in a blast in the Akbarpura area of Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
