Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has on Saturday said that he want to sideline all encroachments on the track of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) in minimum time.

Talking to media officials in Karachi, the minister said  the government also desires to lay railway track from Peshawar to Jalalabad to improve connectivity between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He further informed that government is working hard on restoration of Karachi Circular Railway to resolve the issue of travelling in the mega city.

Sheikh Rasheed said there is a plan to handover some passenger trains to private sector.

He said the democratic process in the country will continue to strengthen and incumbent government will complete its constitutional term.

Earlier on October 31, the Minister for Railways informed that it we have decided to run ten new trains from this month.

He said from November 10, Chaman Express, Mohenjo-Daro and from November 30 Rawalpindi to Lahore train will be restored.

Around 15 to 20 trains would go to the private sector, he added.

Sheikh Rasheed warned that the consequence of picking up a fight against the state could prove dangerous.

He warned that the opposition’s stance could hurt political forces in the country.

“I don’t get why Nawaz Sharif has launched Ayaz Sadiq – who was quiet in the last 2.5 years,” he said. “This is all happening as per Nawaz and Maryam’s instructions.”
