The federal capital, Islamabad, has seen a sharp rise in crime, with more than 38 robberies reported in the first ten days of November.

The federal capital, whose police claim to reduce crime, has failed to protect its citizens from robberies.

Statistics show that in the first week of November, there were 40 incidents of theft and robbery, in 9 different incidents, citizens were robbed on foot or by motorcyclists outside their homes, one person was injured while resisting and another was killed.

During ten days, 15 vehicles and motorcycles were stolen from different areas while the locks of six houses were broken and citizens were deprived of valuables worth lakhs of rupees.

According to police sources, there have been several incidents of street crime in which people have not suffered much financial loss and they have not registered a case as they are fed up with the traditional delay in filing a case by the police.

However, citizens have appealed to the authorities above to take direct action taking note of the gravity of the situation.
