Lady Gaga to Sing National Anthem for Joe Biden’s Inauguration

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will take oath on January 20. Lady Gaga is geared up to sing the national anthem for the inauguration ceremony.

According to the international news source, Gaga will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the swearing-in ceremony, which will be held on the West Front of the US Capitol at around 11:30 am ET.

Sources said that singer Jennifer Lopez will perform in the ceremony, Andrea Hall, a career firefighter, will lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. American poet Amanda Gorman will recite a poem. Moreover, an invocation will also be delivered by Father Leo O’Donovan, and a benediction by Reverend Dr. Silvester Beaman.

“We are thrilled to announce an inspired group of dynamic participants for the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies. They represent one clear picture of the grand diversity of our great nation and will help honor and celebrate the time-honored traditions of the presidential inauguration as President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris take the oath of office on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol. They are also committed to the President-elect and the Vice-President-elect’s steadfast vision of a new chapter in our American story in which we are an America united in overcoming the deep divisions and challenges facing our people, unifying the country, and restoring the soul of our nation,” said the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) CEO Tony Allen in a statement on January 14, 2021.

More artists booked for the ceremony have not been revealed yet. Apart from the inauguration ceremony, a virtual parade and other events are also scheduled for the live streams on January 20.

Lady Gaga had won praise for her rendition at the opening of Super Bowl 50 in 2016. She has a history with Joe Biden as well. During the times of Election 2020, she tweeted, “Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the American people, you just gave the world one of the greatest acts of kindness and bravery humanity has ever seen… Nothing but love for our new Commander in Chief and the 1ST female VP elected to the White House. Also, way to go PA.”
