NZ vs BAN: New Zealand wins against Bangladesh in third T20I

New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by 65 runs in the third Twenty20 international in Auckland.

According to the reports, this match was disturbed by rain after that it was shortened to 10 overs. New Zealand clean sweeps the series with 3-0, Bangal tigers were all out on 76 runs with three balls to spare, well short of the 142 target set by New Zealand.

The Kiwis gives 142 runs target to Bangladesh after losing the toss and being asked to bat, with Finn Allen hitting 71 from 29 balls.

Skipper Tim Southee said in his statement that,

“It was satisfying for the New Zealanders to notch their seventh home series win of the season on all formats,”

“It’s been a great summer and we’ve played some good cricket and seen a lot of guys come into the environment and do well,” he added.

On the other hand, skipper of Liton Das of Bangladesh said,

“Mistakes cost his side, including a series of dropped catches that allowed Allen to run away with the match.”

“We’re not playing good cricket in batting and fielding,”

“We’ve been very good bowling but that’s cost us. We’re a young team and we’re learning.” He added.

Earlier, Kiwi batsman Ross Taylor has been ruled out of the first ODI against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury.

As per reports, the batsman will remain with the squad and is expected to recover soon for the last three matches.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead said in his statement that,

“It’s a shame for Ross to have this happen on the eve of a series,”

“It’s a small tear and we’re hopeful after some rest and rehabilitation we can get him fit for the second game in Christchurch.”

He further added to his statement that,

“It’s an exciting time for Mark who’s come in and performed well recently for the T20 side, so we have full confidence he can do the job if called upon.”
