LAHORE: Argentine Ambassador to Pakistan Leopoldo Francisco Sahores and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar discussed bilateral relations, cooperation in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology and industrial sectors, a statement said.
The ambassador, who called on the Punjab governor, appreciated Pakistan’s role in establishing peace in the region and eradicating terrorism.
Argentine is working closely with Pakistan in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals and information technology, he said, adding that the relations between the two countries would be stronger in the days to come.
Sarwar said that bilateral relations for decades were a sign of mutual trust, respect and cooperation. The role of institutions was crucial to further strengthen these bilateral relations, he said, adding that there was a joint commission to promote trade between the two countries.
A joint business council has also been set up to enhance business-to-business interaction, the Punjab governor said, adding that the presence of Pakistan-Argentina friendship groups in the Pakistani parliament was a good omen for strengthening bilateral parliamentary relations.
The relations between the two countries have become stronger, since Prime Minister Imran Khan has come to power, he said, adding that the government is ensuring the provision of all facilities, including security to foreign investors.
