WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden on Friday hailed the passage of his giant social spending bill in the House of Representatives as a “giant step forward.”
The vote, ensured by Biden’s slim Democratic Party majority in the House, sends the bill to the Senate where it still faces intense debate and an even tighter Democratic majority.
Biden called Friday’s vote “another giant step forward in carrying out my economic plan to create jobs, reduce costs, make our country more competitive, and give working people and the middle class a fighting chance.”
