LAHORE: Cybercrime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has claimed to have arrested at least six suspects including five Nigerians from Lahore on charges of committing financial fraud through impersonation.
According to an FIA official, on a tip-off, FIA’s cybercrime wing team of Faisalabad conducted a raid and arrested the suspects involved in financial fraud. The suspects have been identified as Friday Ebijwu, Augustine Solomon, Mmadu, Onyeka, Nicodemus and M Nouman. The FIA has registered an FIR against them.
The FIA official said they were involved in financial fraud by impersonating themselves as doctors of the United Kingdom. He said the accused have cheated several people and deprived them of their hard-earned money in Lahore. They swindled people out of millions of US dollars.
