ISLAMABAD: The Coal Power Project at Gwadar will create more than 1000 jobs opportunities for the local people and reduce the electricity outage in the area.
The $ 542.32 million worth of coal power project has the capability to produce 300 MW electricity would initiate under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at Gwadar, stated an official source.
Currently, the Makran division has been supplied energy from Iran which has caused power deficits that have directed to load-shedding in Gwadar, Turbat, and Makran districts.
These areas are reliant on the Iranian power supply and not linked with the National grid system in Pakistan.
The government has ensured that these areas are connected to the national grid for a constant power supply to the national consumers to deliver aid in the winter season, said the official.
The government has targeted providing cheap electricity to the consumers with increased coal production to meet national energy needs.
The CPEC will move to accelerate with more strength, which would further reinforce the consensual relations between Pakistan and China, said CPEC Authority official.
