ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi and First Lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi will arrive in Quetta on Monday (today) on a two-day visit.

Dr Arif Alvi will be received by Balochistan Governor Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha and Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, said the spokesperson of the Governor House.

He will also visit the orphanage located on Alamdar Road in Quetta, while accompanied by his wife.

The spokesperson said he will attend various functions regarding women empowerment and awareness about breast cancer besides meetings with the Balochistan governor, chief minister and other personalities.

He said the president would chair the Ehsaas Cash Distribution Programme at an IT university on November 16.

On October 30, students and faculty members of the University of Turbat had visited Quetta and interacted with Corps Commander Quetta Corps.

According to the media wing of armed forces, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the students and faculty members had visited Command and Staff College Quetta, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Science and historic Miri Fort, followed by an excursion trip to Hanna Lake.

The delegation had also interacted with Corps Commander Lieutenant General Safraz Ali, who highlighted the role of youth, especially women, in nation-building as the future of Pakistan.
