KARACHI: In a bid to protect people from the new South African corona variant, the Sindh government has decided to open Pfizer booster shots to vaccinated residents all across the province, Secretary Sindh Health Zulfiqar Ali Shah confirmed.
“The decision has been taken in light of the recent emerging corona wave,” he said. “The people of Sindh can take Pfizer after two doses of any vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine has been used as a booster previously.”
The health secretary said that any decision in regard to the provision of vaccines at the airports would be taken by the federal government, adding that the Pfizer booster shot is currently only available at Jinnah Hospital and Dow Ojha Hospital. “We are trying to make the availabilty of the medicine all over the province,” he said.
Secretary Shah said that there will be no fee for the booster shot.
