Over 10 million people received complete doses in Sindh, says health secy

KARACHI: Sindh Health Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shahn on Wednesday  said that 16.175 million people have received the first dose of Corona virus vaccine while 10.6 million got both doses in the province.

Briefing a meeting held at the Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, the secretary said that 282 thousand students had been vaccinated in government schools, 76 thousands in colleges while 82 thousands in private schools throughout the province.

Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on the occasion urged all private educational institutions of the province to ensure vaccination of their pupils.

He said that all deputy commissioners should ensure the target of vaccination campaign and in case of non-completion of vaccination target, displeasure notices would be issued to the deputy commissioners.

The chief secretary also directed the PPHI officials to complete the vaccination target the earliest.

Additional Chief Secretary Qazi Shahid Pervez, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Secretary Colleges Khalid Haider Shah, Secretary School Education Ghulam Akbar Leghari attended the meeting while all the commissioners and deputy commissioners participated through video link.
