Man shot dead for resisting robbery in Karachi

KARACHI: Armed robbers gunned down a man in the Saeedabad area of Karachi during a robbery and stole Rs3 million, Bol News reported on Friday.

The incident took place yesterday, following which its CCTV footage went viral on social media. The footage revealed that the robbers chased the man on their bike before they mugged him. 

According to the police, the muggers opened fire at the victim when he put up resistance and then fled with a bag full of money.

Theft and harassment incidents on the teeming streets of Karachi are a matter of great concern for the authority and a nuisance for the locals.

Earlier this year, police in Karachi were deploying an armed rollerblading unit to curb the menace of rising street crimes. Gliding in a circle with their weapons pointed inwards and lifting and lowering the guns in unison, the 20-member unit also underwent rigorous training.
