ISLAMABAD, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) — Pakistan’s exports increased by 27 percent during the first five months of the current fiscal year 2021-2022, compared with the same period of the last fiscal year, an official said on Wednesday.
The country’s exports during July-November of 2021 were recorded at 12.365 billion U.S. dollars as compared to 9.747 billion U.S. dollars during the corresponding period of last year, Abdul Razak Dawood, advisor to Pakistani prime minister for commerce and investment, said in a series of tweets.
He said that the exports in the first five months of the ongoing fiscal year were higher than the set target of 12.2 billion U.S. dollars. Pakistan’s exports during the month of November 2021 increased by 33 percent to a historic monthly high of 2.903 billion U.S. dollars, significantly higher than the set target of 2.6 billion U.S. dollars, according to Dawood.
The export figure in the same month of the last fiscal year was 2.174 billion U.S. dollars, said the official.
